About the Event
One-act opera based on events in the life of first lady Lady Bird Johnson, the wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Due to the passing of the Civil Rights Bill, President Johnson was at risk of not being elected to continue his presidency. His wife Lady Bird courageously campaigned for him across the Southern states on a special train tour, at times putting her own life at risk.
Presented in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
All attendees are required to wear a face covering while inside the facility. Safe social distancing is required. People 12 and older are required to show identification and proof they have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
